Who will the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course most benefit?
Electro-technical personnel who require skills training, practical assessment and the underpinning knowledge for the selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical apparatus in potentially explosive atmospheres.
What is the duration of the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course?
Course duration is 5 days, comprising of 3 days classroom instruction and 2 days practical assessments, followed by an on-line exam.
Can I attend the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course if I cannot provide validated certified qualification?

What will I receive after completing the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course?
A CompEx core competency certificate and CompEx Identity Card.
How long does the Ex01-Ex04 qualification last for if I’m successful?
5 Years.

What happens if I fail the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course? Will I be able to resit?
You will have the opportunity to resit the practical and on-line modules within 12 months and have up two attempts.
Will I need bring my own PPE for the practical assessments?
You will need to bring and wear your own suitable clothing and protective footwear (steel toe capped boots). We recommend overalls or long trousers with long sleeved top as the practical assessments are in a workshop environment. PPE such as safety glasses and gloves can be provided if required.
Will tools be provided?
Tools will be provided by C&P Training Services Ltd and you will not be able to use your own tools.
Will I be able to use reference materials during the assessments and exams?
No external reference material can be used. We will provide all necessary training material during the course.

We do offer a number of course such as the Ex12 Design & Project Engineers course, Foundation (Ex F) and Responsible Persons Ex14 course which can be delivered at your company premises or alternative facilities. Terms and conditions apply and prices for are given on application.
Do you provide refreshments?
We do provide refreshments such as tea, coffee, water and a buffet style lunch. Restrictions may apply due to COVID-19.

Course duration is 3 days, comprising of 2 days classroom instruction and 1 day of practical assessment.

Course duration is 3 days, comprising of 2 days classroom instruction and 1 day of practical assessment.
What is the duration of the Ex14 Responsible Persons course?
Course duration is 4 days.

Course duration is 5 days.
What is the duration of the Ex05-Ex06 Combustible Dust course?
Course duration is 3 days, comprising of 2 days classroom instruction and 1 day of practical assessment.
What time should I arrive for my course?
We would suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes before the time indicated on your registration form.
Is parking available?
Parking is available at the training centre.
Can you provide recommended accommodation to stay at?
There are a number of hotels and B&B’s available locally. We can provide you with a list of suggested places to stay.
What has C&P Training Services put in place regarding COVID-19
- Restricting number of delegates
- Registration and signing in processes have been modified
- We expect of delegates to adhere to government guidelines & C&P’s procedures in relation to COVID-19 social distancing and risk prevention.
- Provision of hand sanitiser and enhanced cleaning / disinfection.
What will I need to bring with me to the course?
For all courses you will be provided with necessary course instruction notes, any supplementary documentation, stationery and if required tools, PPE – safety glasses / gloves and equipment.
For the Ex01-Ex04 Gas & Vapours course you will be provided with the Toolbox Guide EEMUA publication guide. You are also permitted to bring your own stationery if you wish to do so.
If you are attending the 18th Edition course you will need to bring your own regulations book. Should you require an 18th Edition regulations book, we can supply you with one at a cost.
